I'm Wavinya Mutei, a development thinker and Pan-African strategist

As a development thinker, Pan-African strategist, and dynamic speaker on trade, policy, and economic sovereignty, I bring over eight years of experience in migration, trade, and development to the urgent conversations about Africa's economic future. My work centers on one fundamental belief: that Africa deserves economic dignity, not charity.

With an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge and a background in International Relations & Diplomacy from the University of Nairobi, I combine rigorous academic training with practical policy experience. As Founder of Mitukai Africa Solutions, I advance Pan-African mobility, market intelligence, and policy research that centers African agency in global conversations.

My role as an International Board Member on Ethics in AI reflects my commitment to ensuring that emerging technologies serve Africa's development agenda rather than perpetuate existing inequalities. I serve as an advisor to governments, contribute to high-level policy debates, and am a featured commentator on NTV, Citizen TV, and international forums.

As a panelist amplifying Africa's economic dignity and a youth leader who contributed to Kenya's 2022 Youth Manifesto, I bridge generational divides in policy conversations. My book, "Capital Violence: The Economic War on Africa's Dignity" (2025), represents years of research and advocacy for economic policies that serve African dignity rather than extract from it.
